Students’ academic success is built on a rigorous British curriculum, personalised teaching and continuous monitoring, including continuous assessment and formal termly examinations, enabling them to develop key knowledge and skills at every stage. Official IGCSE mock examinations in Years 10 and 11, alongside preparation for the ESO qualification, detailed academic reports and regular tutor meetings with families provide further insight into each student’s progress. 

This approach is reflected in excellent results, with IGCSE grades 20% above the UK average, a 92% pass rate with grades from 4 to 9 and 43% of students achieving the highest grades, from 7 to 9. Students’ effort and achievement are also recognised through House Points, academic awards and special mentions.

Through the British curriculum and practical experiences both in and beyond the classroom, students progressively develop essential life skills, including advanced analytical thinking, independent study, personal organisation, digital competence and the responsible use of technology. Through the ISP Life Competencies Framework, they strengthen their communication, global mindset, leadership, teamwork, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as academic-level oral and written communication.

This approach gives students the tools they need to face academic, personal and professional challenges with confidence, building resilience, time management and responsibility in a demanding environment, while the House system supports leadership and teamwork.

In Secondary School, students continue to strengthen their English in an environment where it is the main language of learning and school life. This daily immersion enables them to communicate naturally and confidently, while consolidating their Spanish and developing strong bilingual competence.

Students also broaden their education with a third language, French or German, strengthening their international profile. This linguistic preparation, combined with the academic excellence of the British curriculum, supports access to prestigious universities in Spain and around the world.

Learning extends beyond the classroom through experiences that broaden students’ international perspective. They take part in educational trips, such as curriculum-linked academic, scientific and cultural excursions, that allow them to discover new cultures, develop their independence and apply their learning in real-world contexts.

Students take part in ISP's International Learning Opportunities for Students (ILOS), where they explore areas such as science, the arts and leadership in greater depth. They also participate in conferences, events and public speaking activities, including ISP TEDx Youth Talks, the European Parliament Model, debate clubs, international projects and online competitions, strengthening their critical thinking, communication skills and confidence

Through the Future Pathways programme, students receive personalised guidance throughout the university admissions process. From Year 9, they receive structured support in choosing optional subjects and preparing for KS4 and Sixth Form. With the support of specialists, including dedicated vocational guidance sessions with specialist tutors, they explore their interests, define their goals and prepare applications for prestigious universities in Spain and abroad.

Alongside strengthening their academic performance, this guidance also provides advice on British, Spanish and international academic pathways, with progressive preparation for Sixth Form qualifications, including A Levels and BTEC.
